Solar-powered bra to charge your iPod
Triumph, Japanese lingerie maker, unveiled its eco-friendly “Solar Power Bra” Wednesday in Tokyo.
The bra comes with a detachable solar panel, worn around the stomach, which can produce enough energy to power an iPod or mobile phone as the wearer lazes on the beach, the makers claim.
But therein lies the obvious problem – how is the sun going to reach the panel if the woman is respectably attired?

The ‘Solar Power Bra’ comes in a fetching green color and can be powered by solar or electrical energy.
The bra is also equipped with plastic pouches that can be filled with water, allowing wearers to quench their thirst without having to buy and then throw away hard-to-recycle drinks bottles.
“It is very comfortable and I can really feel involved in eco-friendly efforts as well,” model Yuko Ishida said.
The bra was revealed prior to the 2008 G8 Hokkaido Toyoko Summit that will address environmental issues.
Triumph is developing a reputation for innovative, environmentally friendly underwear. Its previous releases include a ‘No Shopping Bag’ bra which doubles up as bag and a ‘Chopsticks’ bra to encourage people to use reusable metal chopsticks.
